Shuffle 2 decks of playing cards together. For this, don’t take any cards out (apart from the jokers) — just look past the suits and pretend they’re all the same. Otherwise you’d need way more decks!

Deal 10 piles of cards out in a horizontal line. Each card should be face down and vertically oriented. Each of the first 4 piles should contain 5 cards, and the last 6 piles should each contain 4 cards.

 Play Spider Solitaire

Deal another card, face up, on each of the 10 piles. The first 4 piles should now contain a total of 6 cards (with the uppermost card face up) and the last 6 piles should now contain a total of 5 cards (uppermost card face up).

Set the rest of the combined decks aside, face down. This pile is known as the “stock.” You’ll be drawing from it when you run out of moves on your tableau.

Build sequences of cards in descending order by doing the following: Move any face-up card onto a card with the next-highest value in the deck, regardless of suit. For example, a Queen of any suit can go on top of a King of any suit; a 7 of any suit can go on top of an 8 of any suit. Place each new card slightly lower than the card you’re playing it on, so you can still see the value and suit of each previously played card. You can move the card closest to you in each face up stack to another stack at your convenience. You can only move several face-up cards together if they’re all in descending order. For example, the K-Q-J-10-9 or 5-4-3 (of any suit) can be moved together as a single unit.

Play Spider Solitaire

Turn face-down cards face-up as they become uncovered. You cannot leave any piles unturned (why would you want to?). Once you deplete all the cards from a particular pile, you can fill the empty space with any face-up card or descending sequence of suited cards. You cannot use the stockpile if you have any empty columns to fill. Simply take a card (or a bunch) from a stack and place it in the empty column.

Use the stock when you run out of moves. If you’re looking at your tableau and you don’t see anything you can possibly do, turn to your stock. Deal one card face-up from the stock onto each of the 10 card stacks, then continue play. When you run out of stock cards to add and can’t do anything, wah wah. Game over. Playing with one suit is fairly doable, but when you hit two and four it becomes rather difficult.

Remove King-through-Ace sequences from play as you succeed in creating them. Set them aside face-up. When you have 8, you’re finished! Take care to keep the completed sequences separate from the stockpile you set aside after the initial deal. Play ends when you’ve succeeded in creating all 8 “builds,” or suited King-through-Ace sequences, or when no more moves are possible.

The Deal Each player is dealt 6 cards face down from the deck. The remainder of the cards are placed face down, and the top card is turned up to start the discard pile beside it. The Play The object is for players to have the lowest value of the cards in front of them by either swapping them for lesser value cards or by pairing them up with cards of equal rank.

Beginning with the player to the dealer’s left, players take turns drawing single cards from either the stock or discard piles. The drawn card may either be swapped for one of that player’s 6 cards, or discarded. If the card is swapped for one of the face down cards, the card swapped in remains face up. The round ends when all of a player’s cards are face-up.

A game is nine “holes” (deals), and the player with the lowest total score is the winner.

Scoring Each ace counts 1 point. Each 2 counts minus 2 points. Each numeral card from 3 to 10 scores face value. Each jack or queen scores 10 points. Each king scores zero points. A pair of equal cards in the same column scores zero points for the column (even if the equal cards are 2s).

The Pack The standard 52-card pack is used.

Object of the Game The goal of each player is to win the pot, which contains all the bets that the players have made in any one deal. A player makes a bet in hopes that he has the best hand, or to give the impression that he does. In most Poker versions, the top combination of five cards is the best hand.

The Deal Five cards are dealt to each player face down.

The Play Five cards are dealt face down to each player. Before the last round of cards is dealt, a card is turned up in the center of the table; the other three cards of that rank are wild. There is a betting round, then the final draw, and then the final betting interval.

Poker Hands

Five of a Kind – This is the highest possible hand and can occur only where at least one card is wild, such as a joker. Examples of five of a kind would be four 10s and a wild card or two queens and three wild cards.

Straight Flush – This is the highest possible hand when only the standard pack is used, and there are no wild cards. A straight flush consists of five cards of the same suit in sequence, such as 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 of hearts.

Four of a Kind – This is the next highest hand. An example is four aces or four 3s.

Full House – This colorful hand is made up of three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank, such as three 8s and two 4s.

Flush – Five cards all of the same suit, but not all in sequence, is a flush. An example is Q, 10, 7, 6, and 2 of clubs.

Straight – Five cards in sequence, but not all of the same suit is a straight. An example is 9♥, 8♣, 7♠, 6♦, 5♥.

Three of a Kind – This combination contains three cards of the same rank, and the other two cards each of a different rank, such as three jacks, a seven, and a four.

Two Pairs – This hand contains a pair of one rank and another pair of a different rank, plus any fifth card of a different rank, such as Q, Q, 7, 7, 4.

One Pair – This frequent combination contains just one pair with the other three cards being of different rank. An example is 10, 10, K, 4, 3.

No Pair – This very common hand contains “nothing.” None of the five cards pair up, nor are all five cards of the same suit or consecutive in rank. When more than one player has no pair, the hands are rated by the highest card each hand contains, so that an ace-high hand beats a king-high hand, and so on.

Spider is usually played with two standard decks of playing cards, but the game is very difficult that way. Spider One Suit and Two Suit game variations exist that still use 104 cards, but only use the Spades in the one suit game and Spades and Hearts in the two suit game. Extra packs of cards are required to make up the numbers. This makes Spider considerably easier.

Objective

The object of the game is to build cards of descending suit sequence from King to Ace. e.g. K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A within the tableau columns. When such a sequence has been formed, it is automatically removed to one of the 8 foundations. When all 104 cards have been played to the foundations as eight separate King to Ace sequences then the game is won.

Spider Rules

All building is carried out on the tableau columns with the foundations not really participating in the game much. You may move any exposed card from the end of a tableau column to another tableau column if it creates a descending sequence (regardless of suit). e.g. 5 on 6 or 2 on 3. You may also move a packed descending sequence of cards as a group to another tableau column but only if they’re of the same suit. e.g. 9, 8, 7 on 10 or 10. Therefore, you should try to pack cards of the same suit if you have a choice, otherwise you’ll find the game blocks quickly. If you manage to create a complete descending sequence of cards from King to Ace of the same suit, e.g. K, Q, J, 10,9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A then it will be transferred to one of the foundations automatically. Empty tableau columns may be filled by any card or a packed descending suit sequence of cards. When no more constructive moves can be made on the tableau, click on the stock to deal another card to each of the tableau columns. You must fill all empty spaces in the tableau before you can deal cards from the stock, even if it means breaking up a sequence you have already packed.

1. Rule – How to play Pyramid Solitaire: 
 
Aces count as 1, Jacks count as 11 and Queens count as 12. Kings count as 13 and can be removed at any time by simply clicking on them. All other cards are at their face value. So for example you can combine an Ace and Queen to remove the pair, or Jack and a 2 to remove that pair.
To aid you, you may place a single card in the Temp Card Store. This will increase your pairing options by allowing you to get to otherwise impossible to reach cards that are in the pyramid. Additionally the undo button will undo any single move, obviously that’s great for fixing minor errors but there is a little trick for pro players! If not, no harm done, just undo the move and continue matching the pairs of 13. Of course it helps that you can use this little trick any time it is convenient!

You receive bonus points for completing a level quickly, removing all cards in both the pyramid and the deck, and failing that for any remaining cards in the deck that you have not uncovered. 2. Tips to play Pyramid Solitaire well
Although not easy to win Pyramid Solitaire, but there are some tips you can use:
– Always remove Kings as soon as possible, they literally just get in the way.
– Try to plan your moves. Look at the board and see what cards are blocking other cards.
– You absolutely must use the temporary card store. Combine that with planning and you can win most deals. Often simply by moving one card from the pyramid down to the store you can instantly uncover another card that you can use immediately.
– This almost a bit of a cheat. You can use the undo card to look at the next 3 cards coming. This will allow you to plan your moves more effectively.
– At the bottom where the groups of three cards a dealt, if you have too many cards the game will hide them to save space. Those cards are always there, just hidden!
– Remember you don’t have to remove every card, just the pyramid at the top.

I played Magic Cards Solitaire at a weird juncture in my life. I’ve been pouring hours into Pocket Card Jockey, a Nintendo 3DS game that combines solitaire with horse racing, of all things. It’s kind of amazing how many weird directions game developers take solitaire in. But that’s not a bad thing. The world-famous solo card game is compelling on its own, so there’s no harm in adding bells and whistles. In fact, even though I played Magic Cards Solitaire while still standing in the shadow of Pocket Card Jockey, I was impressed at how different the experiences are. Pocket Card Jockey rewards speed, accuracy, and quick thinking. Magic Cards Solitaire encourages forethought and relaxation. Both experiences are pretty cool in their own ways. Both games even add a little narrative to their card-slinging action, because why the heck not. In Magic Cards Solitaire, a wizard’s apprentice befriends a fairy who falls out of one of his spellbooks.
